Guatemalan Children Have Soy to Eat Thanks to Northern Food Grade Soybean Association Donation to the World Soy Foundation
Hundreds of Guatemalan families with malnourished children are now benefiting from much-needed protein in their diets. The Northern Food Grade Soybean Association's (NFGSA) donation has brought smiles and the power of soy to Guatemala. Children in a remote village are now enjoying protein and other nourishment from the soybeans donated to the World Soy Foundation by the NFGSA in August 2011.
Teenage girls in Guatemala are leading their communities' production of soy milk and other foods thanks to a SoyCow and the Northern Food Grade Soybean Association's donation. The soy provides much-needed protein for the children in the community as well as produces income to help sustain the effort.
World Soy Foundation Executive Director Nathan Ruby with some of NFGSA's donation that went to an amazing Guatemalan school with 11 nuns and 1200 boys. The nuns and boys operate a SoyCow to help feed these dynamic young men who even sew their own uniforms as they train for jobs.
Soy adds protein and more to a variety of delicious foods, ranging from doughnuts to meat dishes, that the boys enjoy.
